In a poignant blend of nostalgia and imagination, my art print captures the essence of an elf prince, a character born from a cherished collaboration with a high school friend. Though our paths have diverged, the story we crafted together lives on through my art. In this piece, the prince gazes upwards, his expression a mix of longing and desperation as he clutches a gold chain necklace. His forbidden lover, unseen but deeply felt, stands on the brink of battle, prompting an emotional plea for him to stay. The necklace symbolizes their bond, anchored by a handcrafted emerald ring—a promise of a shared future now overshadowed by war. This narrative, once vibrant and full of possibility, continues to resonate with me, serving as a bittersweet reminder of both what was created and what will remain unfinished, each brushstroke echoing the heartache of lost connections.
In a creative endeavor, I printed my artwork at home using a Canon printer on high-quality canvas paper, meticulously trimming each piece by hand. These finished artworks were then mounted on sturdy 8.5" x 11" white card-stock, adding a clean and professional touch. The original drawing was carefully crafted with graphite pencils, allowing for a soft shading that lent depth to the piece. To enhance the composition, I filled the background with rich charcoal tones, creating a stark contrast against the vibrant watercolors used for the portrait. Finally, I added intricate details with metallic ink, bringing the artwork to life with a shimmering effect that catches the eye. The entire process reflects my dedication to craftsmanship and artistic expression.
