This captivating art print features an original painting of a large blue eye, with the name of the Norse god Heimdallr elegantly inscribed in Elder Futhark at its center. Surrounding the eye, a misty aura enfolds the names of other revered Norse deities, including Odin, Thor, Freya, and Loki, each rendered in the ancient runic script. Beneath the eye, paragraphs from the Himdal poems, also crafted in Elder Futhark, add depth and meaning to the piece. Through this artwork, I seek to honor my Scandinavian heritage while capturing the mystical sense of calm that envelops me in my spiritual practice. The rich symbolism and artistry intertwine to create a powerful homage to the gods and the traditions that resonate deeply within me.
This unique print is a product of my own creative process, carefully crafted in my home studio. I begin by printing the artwork on high-quality canvas paper using my Canon printer and premium ink. Once printed, I meticulously trim the pieces by hand before affixing them to 8.5" x 11" white cardstock paper. The original painting features vibrant oil paints for the main composition, while the intricate details of the iris are brought to life using alcohol markers. To further enhance the artwork, I employ paint markers for the names of the gods and the intricate symbols, ensuring every aspect of the piece is thoughtfully designed. This combination of traditional and modern techniques results in a stunning visual experience that captivates the viewer's attention.
