Pain Lost to Time

Pain Lost to Time is a powerful artwork that captures the calm and ethereal visage of Medusa, beautifully immersed in glimmering waters. She is encircled by gentle lotus petals, lush lily pads, and elegant water ripples, all of which evoke a profound sense of motion and harmony. The vibrant greens, soothing blues, and subtle hints of white and gold create an enchanting, dreamlike aquatic ambiance. This piece, while visually stunning, also draws inspiration from the dark narrative of Medusa's sexual assault in Athena's temple by Poseidon. Having faced similar traumas, I feel a deep connection to Medusa. It was essential for me to portray her in a way that authentically reflects the numerous layers associated with such trauma. The suffocating sensation, the experience of isolation, the feeling of invisibility, and ultimately the transformative potential for healing —moving from being a victim to becoming a survivor.
