This piece evokes a profound sense of home for me, deeply rooted in my love for the outdoors and the comfort I find in speaking to the moon. I vividly recall the time after I lost my grandmother; it felt as if my world was collapsing. In my solitude, I would sit outside under the night sky, conversing with the moon and stars, imagining that my grandmother was present with me. As the years passed, I began to assign a star to each loved one I had lost, creating a celestial connection that brings me solace in moments of loneliness. Now, whenever I gaze up at the night sky, I am reminded that they are still with me, listening and watching over me, easing my feelings of isolation and helping me feel a little less alone.
The print was carefully crafted with my Canon printer, utilizing high-quality canvas paper that I meticulously trim by hand. Each piece is then mounted on 8.5" x 11" white card stock, ensuring a professional and polished presentation. The original artwork, created with vibrant gouache paint, captures the rich textures and colors that this medium offers. The process of transferring the gouache painting to print allows for a stunning reproduction that maintains the essence of the original work.
